OIL PUMP STATION (OPS), HYDRAULIC POWER UNITS (HPU), BASIC COMPONENTS OF HPU
- Storage Tanks (Return and Supply Tank): The return tank receives hydraulic fluid from the valve actuators and returns it to a closed circuit. The fluid is periodically graded before being transferred to a supply tank, which stores the graded fluid for the supply pumps.
- Primer Pump: Used to transfer fluid from the original containers to the return tank and to grade the fluid periodically through filters and valve manipulations.
- Hydraulic Supply Pumps (Electric and Pneumatic): These pumps increase the pressure of the fluid from the supply tank to the required values. Pneumatic pumps can operate in parallel with electric pumps to reduce the drive frequency.
- Hydraulic Fluid Classification Filters: Filters are selected according to design conditions and pressure classes. They usually have a pop-up indicator and a differential pressure transmitter for automated monitoring.

PUMPS IN OIL AND GAS PRODUCTION

Pumps in oil and gas extraction and processing provide the collection and processing of hydrocarbons for industrial users. They are divided into hydrodynamic and positive displacement pumps. Hydrodynamic pumps, like centrifugal pumps, are suitable for lighter hydrocarbons and water at high flow rates. Positive displacement pumps are also emerging, which handle more viscous liquids and gas at higher pressures. Screw pumps are becoming increasingly important in areas traditionally dominated by centrifugal pumps, thanks to innovations and improvements by manufacturers.

IEC 60034-30-1 covers the power range from 0.12 kW to 1000 kW and includes:
- Single-speed motors (single-phase and three-phase), 50 and 60 Hz
- 2, 4, 6 and 8 poles
- Power from 0.12 kW to 1000 kW
- Voltage above 50 V up to 1 kV
- Motors suitable for continuous operation with the appropriate insulation temperature class
- Motors rated for operation at temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C and altitudes up to 4000 m
Efficiency is determined according to IEC 60034-2-1 using a low uncertainty method and taking into account load losses.

VALVES

There are a wide variety of valve types: from ball valves to butterfly valves and from gate valves to globe valves. Each type of valve has its own characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. When is it appropriate to use which valve?
